Birthday Loot!

Well, I had a birthday earlier this month and I got some wonderful presents!! I just have to share some pictures of them with you! I also got a sweet new camera (it's pink!), but did not take a picture of it...hehehe!
Mom borrowed one of my jewelry boxes to put some beads in that she got at the yard sale.

My sister made the most delicious Chocolate Pavlova with fresh, hand whipped cream and fresh raspberries; plus Raspberry Sorbet! It was amazing!

My sister also decided to make me a series of headbands/fascinators. This one is made of pom-poms.
Another jewelry box with beads in it!

That is most of the loot! See the cool headband with the feather?! Made by my sister!!

The other jewelry box full of beads! Delicas, crystal stones, and sew-on settings for the stones. :D

See the pretties?!

This is the feather headband. I love it!!

Bazinga headband! Love the Big Bang Theory!

This is the cutest thing ever! It looks like a little bitty chick from Shaun The Sheep!

Black Ants in a pea-pod boat!

Some awesome color changing beads from my lovely Grandma!

This is an earring tree, also made by my sister. She knows I love pink...

I got this awesome vintage party tray set from my Aunt Becky! It is so cool and came in it's original box! 4 Trays, 4 Cups, and 4 Glasses! They used to use these before they had paper plates, but they are not disposable. They are made of glass and I love them so much!

Here is one of the sets! Aren't they adorable?!
It was the best birthday ever! Full of surprises and delights, just the way I would want it!

Yard Sale!

Yippy Skippy!!! My neighborhood had a huge yard sale the first weekend in June...sorry I did not post about it yet! Anyway, I found some great, wonderful, fantastic things!

$0.25
I made it into a much needed ring box!
See how much room I can take up already!
This one was the most expensive - $0.75.

When you open the lid the bottom drawer comes out automatically! It is so darn cool!
Mom borrowed this box to use as a wrapping for some of my birthday presents!
Delicas! Crystals! Sew-On Settings!
I also bought three tins at ten cents each!

Each one is so cool and they are marked "Made in England."

These are so fun!

In total, I bought three vintage jewelry boxes and three vintage tins for a grant total of $1.55. Awesome! I looked up the jewelry boxes on Etsy.com and discovered that each one of them is listed at $25.00. Some cool bargains if I do say so myself!

Little Brother

Well, I do not actually have a little brother, but my cousin Jake is pretty much as close as it gets to being my brother. He is pretty special.

He has graduated from high school this year and I thought it was time to do a little congratulating and reminiscing.

When I grow up, I want to be thrifty!

Me: Mom, when I grow up, I want to be thrifty!
Mom: ...Why don't you start now?
Me: That takes money.

I'm so in love with the entire thing!
So, yeah. I like to shop and it is even better when I can save money while shopping. While admiring some lovely things on Etsy.com I began to wonder if there are coupons for Etsy. I did some quick Googleing and discovered an amazing website called Heartsy. Heartsy.me is a deal a day website that only features Etsy sellers. The deal goes something like this...$7 for $28 on printing. So the deal is that you pay $7 (or whatever it is for that deal) and you get a $28 credit for the Etsy shop. If that isn't sweet enough, they also have a boutique! The boutique has some pretty triumphant items which are cheaper to get through Heartsy that through the Etsy seller. Well, if you sign up for Hearty with this link you get a $5 bonus that you can use towards any purchase you make. So that deal for $7, is now only $2! So awesome!! Anyway, I signed up a couple of weeks ago and I made a little purchase through the boutique! I got these supper cute earrings! They came all the way from Australia! And came in such lovely packaging! Inside the padded envelop was a green drawstring bag. Inside the bag was a lovely little wrapped package with the most adorable ribbon and accents. And inside this tiny parcel were these darling earrings! I am so thrilled!

Now! You also need to know that I did not actually pay any money for these earrings! I have been earning a little online currency by doing surveys online. Dollarsurveys.net gives you a dollar in your Paypal account for every survey you complete and you can do one every day! I earned $4 last week just from this website! So, I paid for the earrings with online earnings and had the discount that Heartsy had on the cute little things and on top of that I had the $5 Heartsy sign up bonus!  I am just saying that this is so cool! Not only is this a great way to buy things for yourself, but you can also buy things as gifts. And you do all this while supporting the handmade movement! Legit!

So, in conclusion...There is a way around needing money to be thrifty! You should definitely sign up for Heartsy!! And possibly Dollarsurveys.net. And you will be sooo happy!

UPDATE: Heartsy is no longer in existence. They got too big for their britches and collapsed. Sorry guyses!
